The first print of the book No better place to die is sold out.
I saw on Amazon.com that there will be a reprint this summer.
For who is interested you can pre order it.

HI Jan,
Yes, that makes about the 3rd of 4th edition of the book. I am tempted to get the new hardback one, but then again my paperback signed by Bob Murphy and several other 505th veterans is perfectly usable.

I have pre ordered the book. I tried to find this book a while back and couldn't source it. I am glad that it is being re-printed.

Hi all,
I thought i'd give my thoughts on the re-print of No Better Place to Die.
Having not read the previous editions, to me it was like the release of a completely new book.
Seeing as it is written by Bob Murphy, a veteran that fought at La Fiere, I thought it would be his memoirs. Murphy tells the whole story of the battle of La Fiere, with detailed information on the 507th, 508th and the 325th as well as Timmes and his orchard. This was not what I was expecting, but it turned out to be much better than just one troopers memories. At times I had to re read bits as in parts it can be a bit "full on", but I don't think this is a bad thing. The sign of a good book!
He gives equal praise and tells of the sacrifices made by his fellow 82nd comrades, which is a great thing to do, as he could but all the praise on the men in his Company as he would be more biased to them.
I really wish more books were written like this. It is a great account with very good all round coverage of the battle. 9/10
There are very good appendices in the book which gives accounts of other aspects of the 82nd in Normandy. This takes up a section of the book and adds to its quality
